The 2017 Giving Houses

We’ve Selected 2017’s Next Giving Houses!

We have selected two of our newest communities to host 2017’s Giving Houses by Pacific Lifestyle Homes, Whispering Pines in Battle Ground, WA and Philbrook Farms in Vancouver, WA.

Philbrook Farms was previously a prominent berry farm in Salmon Creek and is now home to over 250 home sites, 3 community parks, and walking trails. The Redwood will be our featured Giving House. Featuring 2,982 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bath, and 2-car garage. We are breaking ground on the home within the next few weeks.

To Learn More About This Home:

Whispering Pines is on the outskirts of Battle Ground, providing a country feel with large home sites, but still near the city. The Foxglove will feature 1.982 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 3-car garage. This home broke ground this week!

Project: Community Giving House

The inception of the Community Giving House project by Pacific Lifestyle Homes signified a company commitment to build a stronger, healthier Vancouver where families can flourish, businesses can prosper and today’s youth can become tomorrow’s leaders. We considered the legacy we want to leave our successors – one of charitable contribution, altruism and philanthropy that begets a prosperous, connected community.

We wanted to be a part of something far bigger and greater than ourselves.

By aligning ourselves with strategic community partners, Pacific Lifestyle Homes have identified charities that make daily contributions to the health, wellness and sustainability of our growing region. We were discerning in our choices and we are proud of the relationships we’ve fostered with three southwest Washington organizations that exist to enact change and challenge the disparities and struggles faced by far too many Vancouver families today.

Forging these partnerships and dedicating proceeds from the Community Giving House to their distinct yet convergent efforts will strengthen the availability of competent, responsive and quality resources in our community.

Our first designated charity is the Children’s Center, whose organizational focus is offering accessibility to quality mental health services for children and families in Clark County, Washington.

This agency works with our youth to offer a safe haven for recovery and remission from:

❖     traumatic environments, events or situations which have contributed to the onset of mental illness or injury;

❖     brief or prolonged sexual abuse;

❖     mental health concerns, behavioral or emotional struggles.

The Children’s Center also offers a fleet of community services that directly impact the health and wellness of our county’s youth and families:

❖      the Pathways Program, a need-based initiative which serves underinsured or uninsured children in need of rehabilitation and recovery from mental health concerns by providing access to quality, professional care at no cost to the family.

❖     the Coaches Program, developed in part with a generous grant from the Legacy Health System Community Health Fund, which provides specialized care and resources for children impacted by methamphetamine exposure and associated severe mood dysregulation.

❖     The Children’s Center provides mental health services to schools in both the Evergreen and Vancouver school districts. This school-based program targets children and adolescents with identified behavioral or emotional problems which prohibit their success and functionality in an educational environment.

Pacific Lifestyle Homes is dedicated to building value in the homes we create and the community in which we live. We believe that when our sponsors and community members gain awareness of our charities’ great work, it directly influences their decision to get involved. Fun Way’s to Give Back

It’s time to start thinking about ways you can give back to your community. At Pacific Lifestyle Homes we are thinking about ways we can give back to the community and we want to share with you some of our ideas. Sometimes it can be hard to put yourself out there and do something for the community. However, there are so many different ways to share your skills and talents with the rest of the world. If you are shy and don’t like big crowds then don’t worry, there are plenty of opportunities for you to give back to your community. No matter what your range of skills is there is a way you can give back and improve your community. Pacific Lifestyle Homes believes in bettering the community.

Here are a few ways to get you motivated to get involved:

Visit Local Seniors
Senior citizens are very important to the community and are often overlooked. They contain so much wisdom and life that you could really learn a lot from them. Just spending time with them can make their day. All you have to do is stop in and say hello and you could change a person’s whole day for the better. You will probably get some pretty insightful stories out of it too.

Baking an Extra Batch
Next time you are baking for your child’s class, or maybe for a friend’s birthday, bake an extra batch. You can give it to the homeless person on the street corner or take it to your local police station. No matter whom you choose to give it to you can make someone’s day. Little acts of kindness can go a lot farther than you may think. Never underestimate the impact you can make on a person’s day.

Volunteer with Youth
Sharing your skills with the local youth can impact them in a way you never thought possible. Pacific Lifestyle Homes is a firm believer in helping the younger generations. There are so many great organizations in the community that are focused on just the youth in the community. There are so many children in the community who need guidance and attention. It is so important we create a space for them to grow and thrive. Showing them that there are people who care can make the difference.

Clothing Drive
Running a clothing sale can help recycle clothes no one wants anymore and you can give all the proceeds to a local charity. Everyone has clothes that have been sitting in their closet forever. One man’s ugly sweater could be another man’s party sweater. All the clothes that do not get sold could be donated to a local goodwill or shelter.

Volunteer At The Shelter
Pacific Lifestyle Homes encourages you to find what you love and use that to fuel you for giving back. Animal shelters are in constant need of help in their facilities. The tasks might be a little bit more than just playing with the cute cats and dogs, but the reward is great. These animals need attention and if you are an animal lover this could be the perfect way for you to give back. Instead of sitting in a cage all day these animals can get out and get the social interactions they are craving. Plus, you can help them find homes by sharing their personalities with interested adopters.

Get Out There!
If you have been thinking about getting involved in the community then go-ahead just jump in! There are so many opportunities to give back to the community. Whether you have artistic skills or you can just be there to listen to a story. Anything you are willing to give can help. Improving your community will benefits others and benefits you. Pacific Lifestyle Homes is always looking for ways to improve the community, especially when it comes to the younger generations. The proceeds of Pacific Lifestyle Homes’
Community Giving House all went to various children’s organizations.
